Hi guys
So the reverse warning system is pooched, it worked fine, then this past winter started giving me the long beep for a week or so, I thought snow was covering the sensors but after a week, nothing. I have put the car in reverse with the ignition on but the car not started and listened and there is nothing at the sensors so I'm assuming the main controller part is done.

My question is there are universal kits for 50.00 or so on fleabay and I'm wondering if I should adapt one into the stock wiring harness, meaning unplug the old, graft the old plug onto the universal unit. Think it would work, the beeper is actually pretty handy in the Jagon.

 

Sidewalk, not to ask the silly question, but have you looked at the fuse for the back system? That could also be causing what you are experiencing.

As for the aftermarket systems, sure you can get it to work. The big issue is how much work are you looking at to tie in to the factory wiring. How good are you with wiring projects?

 

What, there's a fuse??? JK yeah that's the first thing I checked. I'm pretty good with wiring if I have a schematic. I think it's pretty basic, switched power, ground and a reverse trigger. The aftermoarket controller has the sensors wired in and a speaker so..... and it's like 50.00. I checked and the stocker is 250.00 at the very least.
