Robin, form the sounds of things, your metal clip has gotten bent and will need a little tweaking to get it back to where it should.
In short, when you put the plastic hook in first, this should leave the metal clip sticking out part way. If you push the light housing in a little more (leaving about a 1/4" gap on the metal clip end), you should see where the clip starts to hit the plastic of the bumper. if you are getting too far away, it is possible that someone tried to pull the light housing out the wrong way and pulled the clip away. A pair of needle nose pliers should allow you to bend the clip back to where it should be.

I see that this post has a pretty new entry, so I figured maybe I shouldn't create a new post.
I'm looking for the part that is on the attached image. I really don't know the name of it, but it's the "holder" for the front (passenger) marker light bulb. I've tested and the bulb works just fine, so it should be just the "holder".
Sorry if I'm not being precise, but English is not my mail language, so I wouldn't know how to start looking.
BTW, I live in the US, which might be a drawback.
