Default Rim size

Well, we all know the story about the curb incident, and now that i got a few days before im heading back out camping, i need to get that hideous spare off, so i measured my rim, and it came out to 17.5 i belive, is that correct fro stock rims, i thought they went from 16, 17 to 18.

Disco, look on your tires. If you look at the tire size, it should have something along the lines of 215/40R17. The "R17" stands for 17" rim. Odds are, based on the year car that you have, you have 17" rims if you measured out the rim to be 17.5". Keep in mind that the rim size is based on the inside edge of the rim where the rubber comes in contact with the metal (at the bend of the rim). That is why you are getting some funky measurements.

Oh okay, i see, yes i didn't know wether to measure to the very lip of the rim or the base of the lip tot he base on the other side
