I have a Jag 2002 x type 3L AWD , when engine cold everything works great after few miles drive rpm stuck at 3000 while gear shifting. especially if I try to accelerate faster and sometimes even if I parked and try at parked rpm stucks at 3k. here is the link below which shows while car is at Parked.

my engine light is on but it was on before that problem, I checked code it is about map sensor. Do you think it is about engine problem or transmission ? but there is no any transmission fail message or light. ? please help guys thanx

Just an uninformed opinion. That tach looks bad. Is the needle bent?

It doesn't climb or drop smoothly at all.

 

thanx man but really dont know, I tried again tonight while engine was cold works great after drive couple miles started to same thing again while shifting stuck at 3k rpm. I am thinking it could be because of transmission fluid. because when it is cold there is no problem. I bought that couple months ago and it was running great. I have no idea when they changed trans. fluid..

You have an engine fault that is putting the car in limp mode--the computer prevents the engine from reving above 3000 RPM to prevent damage. Get you car scanned and see what the codes are. It has nothing to do with the transmission fluid level.

 

Hi I just scanned the car, here is the error codes;
P0171 Bank 1 combustion too lean
P0174 Bank 2 combustion too lean
P1638 CAN ECM / INST network malfunction
P1000 System (OBD) check not complete since last memory clear
P1384 VVT solenoid malfunction –bank 1
P1108 MAP Sensor sense circuit high voltage

Looks like highly complicated, I just realized a little bit white smoke too from exhaust while engine is cold. I dunno how to start, this is the project car , I am trying to handle everything my own just changed all upper hoses, radiators, pcv hose, brake rotors and egr valve. But now problem looks like more complicated. Please help thanx
