Rust
I have a 2003 X-Type 2.5...loved it. It is beginning to nickle and dime me. Of course, I can't work on it. I drive it back and forth to work each day, so I don't open the passenger door much. I noticed some rust on the inside of the door frame and took it to a body shop and it has eaten through from the inside.
It will cost more than it is actually worth to have it all the parts replaced and repaired. Has anyone ran into this issue? Any suggestion of getting it fixed without replacing the all he layered in frame parts?

Welcome to the forum cherebs,
I've moved your question from US Southern Midwest to X-Type forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

If you really want to keep it, these are pricey, but very useful (with shipping about $550!) Keep in mind that you can't really see the stuff, so judicious use of a torch and good sheet metal can get you far...
Remember that off-side is UK driver, or right-hand (passenger) here; near-side is our driver;s side in the US...
