Rust !!!

Can anyone help me with this question..... Is anyone else out there having rust problems in the rocker panels of their 2003 X-Type ????????

That is a known issue on the X type for most model years. Those in climates with salted roads tend to have it worse.

well, i can understand why no one wants to answer, im getting the smae issue with my faults withteh car too, hmm just seems that alot of the good forum memerbs are on vacation or something. BUT, yeah it is a common problem, if its surface rust it can be grinded off and painted, it really depens how bad it is, pics would be a ig help, on my car, im gettign the rust removed saturday. So yeah, post pics, it will help u alot and us to know what your facing

I have some really bad rust when you open both front doors and look below the door hinges on the rocker panels. Both sides.

Also have some where my rear license plate is.

Yes, I too, have some pretty bad rust on the rockers under the door hinges. I had it in the body shop this summer for a rear end collision and had them fix it. I thought it was surface rust, but they ended up having to cut and weld.
