same ol' HID questions
a while back I found a good thread where I think it was thermo who listed exactly what to buy but now I cant seem to find it, or a direct answer...1st of all its an 02 2.5 and I'm going with 8000k...is it H1 or H11? I just saw a minute ago on an older thread a dude saying H1 for both. if that's the case, would I order 2 of the exact same kits? Or, buy one of the ones I see that states fog light? This is probably pretty repetitive by now but any help would be stellar! thanks.

The headlights are H1 bulbs. If you can get a kit that is specific to the H1 bulbs, things will be a little bit easier. If you get one of the universal kits (ie, covers, H1, H11, 9007, 9005, etc), then you have to do a little more work. Either way it is not bad. The big thing is making sure you take the time to remove the headlight assembly to do things right. Otherwise, you risk breaking the internal supports and then you have a big mess on your hands. If you have any further questions, let me know. I will tell you all that I know.

At one point, Jaguar changed the fog lights to use H11 bulbs instead of H1 bulbs, but as far as I know the headlights are H1 on all model years.
On my 2005 the fog light bulbs are H11, but since you have an '02 I'm sure you have the H1 fog lights. Basically the older models with the H1 fog lights have a plastic "adapter" type of piece that holds the bulb into the housing, while on the later models with the H11s the bulbs have a built-in "adapter" the secures itself to the housing.
I would also recommend you start off with a well-made kit. I got the eBay ones first and not only were they not true to their color, they were flickering from day 1 and failed within a few weeks.
I recommend these ballasts: I have 4 in my car right now and they've been running strong for about a year now. They never flicker either. They're a bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for

Hopefully they work out well for me. If not, can I just replace the ballast later down the road? Also, along the same lines, can I just replace the bulb for a different temperature later down the road? Thanks for the help folks.

Mental, Yes, you can replace the ballasts and bulbs later on down the road. BUT!!!!!!!!! You knew that was coming. There are 2 different style bulbs out there as it relates to the connectors. So, you need to make sure you get the correct style bulb for the ballasts that you have. Along those same lines, you will find that HID bulbs come in 3 different power ratings (35W, 50W, and 80W). You can not mix and match the bulbs and ballasts. They are dramatically different and to mix and match WILL!!!! lead to a failure of something.
So, as you can see, the parts can be interchanged. But, there are limitations.
