Default Seatbelt Retractor Inop

Good Morning all..
Let me start out with a brief intro to this portion of the forum;
I found her through Craigslist in Raleigh several weeks ago..
I took a shot in the dark due the the low price ($3,200.00) because it doesn't steer of all things
I feel for the young gentleman that i bought the car from...
He'd put new rotors, pads & tires all around. New battery & a new Tranny.
Then in January he's driving home & the steering just goes out....
From the sound of him, he was just tired of putting money into the pockets of the Jag dealership in Raleigh...
AAA man thought it might be a sway brace end link, which made me think something had come loose from the previous Tranny job.

Brought her home on a Saturday & fiddled around for a few hours without much success...
I was at the Oh poop, what have i gotten myself in for stage...
the steering problem turns out to be the entire rack (two bolts) came away from the subframe, we were having problems getting the rack to roll forward a few more degrees so we can line up the bolts & secure them...
Right side front sway bar end link blown apart (think the steering rack cracked it free)
so stopped before we got too frustrated...

On the other hand; small leak at the oil pan, no leak at the TC (checked & has good oil trying to flood out), interior electrics seem to work, A/C nice & cold
Another bummer is that I do not have any remote key fobs...

Went out to the Jag on the Sunday morning, reinspected all the places we were working Saturday night & it finally hit me... the plastic cover around the steering rack column had jammed up into the sheet metal of the car. This is why we couldn't get it to rotate to drop the bolts back in. persuaded the plastic cover back into place and bolted her right up..... ran over to Advance to pick up the Sway Bar End Link, popped it in then buttoned it all up.
Finally went for a ride... More than decent acceleration, shifts fine but the clutch engages about one inch up from the floor (is that normal?) ride is a bit soft, but it's a Jag...
So for $3200.00 i couldn't be more pleased
So there you have it, my life story so far...

The following day I'm in Albany NY for three weeks & all I can do is read, read, and read... so I'm getting educated...
But; I do have one problem that I haven't seen addressed...
The Seatbelt Retractor on the drivers side isn't working, the belt lays in a puddle at the bottom of the B-Pillar...
Any fixes available or do i search one down through car-part and have it waiting for me

Thank you for your patience if you've gotten this far

Cheers
Gary

for the seatbelt it sounds like it was just pulled too far, had the same issue once.
just pop the cover off the pillar and start to roll it back in, it worked for me and only toom 5 min.
