Default Wheel assembly hub questions

Greetings all, recently my alignment has gone bad and I thought my CV axle had went, after further inspection from a local shop as I don't have the time and space to fix it myself at the moment I was told the front left hub assembly and bearing had gone bad.

The shop has looked everywhere for the hub assembly but cannot find one. They said they would let me keep my car there til I was able to find the part myself. Pull-a-part doesn't have an x-type there at the moment and neither does any auto parts store nor rockauto it seems.

Three questions.
1. I was under the impression that the hub itself doesn't usually or could even go bad, I thought it was just a holder for the bearing and such, however the shop tells me that it is bad.
2. If anyone were able to pull one from there parts car I would deeply appreciate it, as right now I'm scrambling to figure out what to do while I have no way to get to both my jobs I just started 2 weeks ago and man I am stressed
3. What other realistic actions do I have?

Thank you to anyone who participates and gives me any insight. Honestly ideally the shop guy doesn't understand he can just press a new bearing into the hub and I can get it fixed for cheap and quickly and get to work.

1. If the inner race gets hot enough from a bad wheel bearing, it can distort/damage that area of the hub, making it hard to remove or not allowing a new race to seat properly. They can even spin.
2. Plenty of used OEM options for hubs on ebay. I see new hubs with bearings available there too. I would personally (and did) go with a used OEM hub and Timken bearing (WB000003)
3. Send it with unknown quality new part ebay option, used hub, or OEM hub for $300+

I can't seem to find any front ones on Ebay, I think you're mistaken with all the rear hubs on there. Some of them say falsely "front rear" which makes no sense but if you did happen to see one on there could you link it to me?

New front hub and bearing.
Used front hub. (As with any used press-in hub you'll need to do some disassembly)

Also car-part.com had some hits for front hubs less than 100miles from Charlotte.
