Default Service Engine Codes - Please Help

I have 2 codes on my 03 X-type and I was wondering if anyone had some more information they could share on what they meant.

P0430 - Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold <Bank 2>
P1111 - System Pass

Thank you for your time.

Wolv, the P0430 is simply saying that the cat on bank 2 (side of the engine nearest the bumper) is not converting the CO into CO2 as effectively as it can and therefore will need changing soon. But, based on the P1111 code, that is saying that the P0430 code was only a fluke and that the system now meets all requirements. odds are, the cat is starting to go, but is doing a good enough job to be considered satisfactory. Start saving up your pennies. This will be a repair job in your near future.

Thanks for your help here Thermo!!!! I really do appreciate it. If I may, one related question. Are you implying the catalytic converter will eventually need to be replaced soon? The reason I ask is because I was told by the Jaguar dealership that every car has a factory 8 year / 80k mile warranty. I am still within this period. Would this be something that would qualify since those codes are showing? From what you said, it somewhat indicates that it is not perfect but working for the time being.

I am hoping they might possibly warranty this while it is still covered since the codes are showing...wishful thinking? Or a possibility.

Thanks.

No I didnt clear it but just like the last time i had the codes read, the light went off on its own. Last time, the light came right back on about 10-20 miles later. I am sure it will come back on shortly and I will be sure to take it right in to the dealership for the replacement. They even said it was like a $1500 part but would be covered if that was the issue. I am confident that is the problem now.

I will be sure to take it in as soon as this light goes back on, most likely within the next few days.

Thanks all!!

Welp, jus and update, the light did come back on so I brought it right up to the Jaguar Dealership here in Michigan. They ordered the part and after almost a week, I just got the car back with a brand new $1500 Cat. All this compliments of the 8 year / 80,000 mile warranty.

Thanks for all the help everyone!!
