I bought a 09 X-Type three months ago with just over 12,000 (it has now just over 16,000). It was serviced in March 2010 having done just over 11,000 (it was registered March 2009) so I calculated that its next service would be 25,000. However, this morning a message came up saying a service was needed in 1,750 miles. I travelled two miles, started the car and it now said 1,450. I turned the engine off than on and it then said service needed 1,050!

Should I ignore these messages which I know some must be wrong? And what's the message flash telling me which I have no means of testing?

Anyone Help?
