The car I bought originally was originally sold & serviced for years in Oregon State. The dealer at Washington State pulled out a record/history of my car and they just crossed out the owner's name for privacy reasons. Apparently it is all recorded & stored in a database that is accessible by different dealers. I might be wrong for other countries.
The record also gave the full detail of the cars trim package & options installed. Pretty neat. Hope it helps.

I was also just told you can get the service record from a code reader....But i was told by my father who said his for mech did it to his truck with one....is this really just done with a code reader or does he also have some kind of diagnostic report tool
