She sprung an oil leak and I can't find it
Okay so our X type at 135k has started peeing in the litter box. For the past couple of oil changes it would leave a few drips of motor oil directly under the ac compressor. Now it is more like 2 50 cent pieces. Cant seem to trace it. I don't think it is the oil pan and the valve cover gasket looks dry. Any ideas. Haven't taken the pass side wheel out to look at the pulley seals but it seems to be a bit too much oil to drip from one of those.
Trevor, odds are, you have a valve cover gasket that is leaking on you. Look behind your passenger headlight at where the valve cover is and see if you can spot a trail starting up there.
The other trick that you can do is spray a bunch of simple green into the engine bay near where you think the leak is located. Give it say 10 minutes to work and then hose off everything with a garden hose. Then add some oil dye to your motor. Drive the car for say 50 miles. You can then use a black light to see where the oil is starting to come out at. This should help you pin point where your oil leak is. Granted, based on what you are saying, are you sure your oil filter is on tight enough?

Trevor: Check the oil pressure and oil temperature sensors. They're behind and above the A/C compressor, to the left of the oil filter.

Trevor: Try elevating the front of the car, e.g., drive the front tires onto ramps, lie on your back under the front bumper and reach up next to the oil filter with your smart phone to snap pictures of the two sensors. If one is leaking oil, you'll see old black oil coated with road grime under the sensor. If necessary, remove the oil filter to give yourself some more room.
If you need more room, the next step is to loosen the serpentine belt, remove the 4 bolts holding the A/C compressor to the oil pan & block, and move the compressor just enough to access the sensors(without disconnecting any Freon lines). That's a bit more work, so hopefully removing the oil filter is sufficient.
If a sensor is leaking oil, you can try to tighten it, or replace it. When they leak, it's usually just slow seepage past the threads.

Will try taking a pic with the phone. Don't really want to disturb things more than I have to with the ac. That just will likely open up a can of worms.
