Default shift knob thread hole

greetings, I was trying to buy a gear knob on eBay for my manual 2005 x type but wanted to make sure it was going to fit. Tried finding a thread but no luck. Here are the dimensions. Thread Hole Inner Dia: 1.5cm/ 0.6 inches. would that fit? Thanks in advanced!

Cool Shaft size?

Are you sure your shifter shaft is that large? I removed the one from my automatic 07 X Type and the hole was only 8mm. That is the size that is being advertised on the Jaguar X Type shift knob area of Ebay. The thread size is supposed to fit both automatics and manual shifters. From what they say, the knobs will fit most Jaguars from 1988 on up. If your shifter is really that large, I suppose you could find a hardwood one, bore it out, and put it on with a very strong glue, or that thread repair gel that actually makes threads.....Good Luck......Mike
