Default Side Marker Lamp Replacement

Hello all,

Been a while since I posted anything....

Got a quick question about something that should be straightforward but doesn't seem to be....

Trying to replace the passenger side (US) front running lamp.... the yellow marker that butts up agaist the chrome bumper molding.

Seems inaccessable from the engine compartment .... unscrewed enough of the wheel well liner to try to get my hand back up behind it but there isn't enough room to twist the socket out.... am I missing something simple here?

Couldn't find a reference to it in the JTIS..... any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

No screws or bolts. Depending on the side of the marker, you will have to slide it front or back. For example lets take the right hand side (US Passenger), holding (pinching in your fingers) the front end portion of the cover>slide it towards the back side & pull.

You can examine the lamp off this ebay photos. It's easy to install but tricky to remove.

Also, once you do get the cover off you may want to consider LED bulbs. I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem but it seems to me that these sidemarkers and side turn signals aren't designed to withstand the heat of a regular incandescent bulb. I noticed when changing my bulbs that the plastic housing appears to have melted over the years from the heat.

Yes mine we're all melted also. I replaced all four with the new clear ones and LEDs with the certain color needed.
