Default Sound System Upgrade

Ok, I have a clear idea of what I'm going to do with the sound system, but I will like to read what you guys have done to your X-Type, I'm installing something functional and simple, I have a very pleasant experience with the new JVC KW-R900bt on my working van, I'm trough with the touchscreen, video, gps, etc units, with the capabilites of the smartphones I believe screen units are going aside.
Please share your sound system upgrades and lets compare.

Have and awesome weekend everybody

I was thinking of using just one 10 inch or 12 inch (haven't decided between those sizes) Hcca orion sub in the back and upgrading the mids and highs with either an infinity or Jl audio and using my stock head unit. As far as amps a 1000watt 1 chanel for the sub a d a 800watt 4 chanel for the mids and highs and an epicenter.... Idk that's my plan seems to be simple not flashy but packing a punch

I replaced my door speakers with the cheap Sony Xplod's and so has another member on these forums. Both him and I are very pleased with the sound, yet we both have an auxilary subwoofer box in the trunk. Personally, I have all Sony Xplod's (they are 2-ways so I removed the stock tweeters) and then I have two 10" subs for when I really need more power from the system. I love the way it sounds, and both me and aCapiz have practically the same setup.

I'm still using stock door speakers with 2 12in MTX subs in a box with a 1600watt audiobahn amp. I have a DVD touchscreen head unit. I'd bet I don't have over 1 hour using the DVD player total in 3 years its been in car. But I do use the iPod and memory card features all the time. Wish I had gone with a single din and a nice equalizer for the 2nd din

I replaced the door speakers shortly after buying my X. I decided to go with Kickers after listening to 15 or so different types including Infinity & Alpine at Best Buy. I have been a car audio buff for 30 years and was surprised that the Kickers sounded as clear as they did. Installed CS65 in the front and KS65 in the rear for $140 total.

The Kickers fill the car with clean, clear highs and decent mid bass punch. However, one cannot expect a 6 1/2" speaker mounted in a door to reproduce low end bass.

I have a sealed box with 2 - 12" Rockford Fosgate subs and a Punch amp, but I don't want a huge box in my trunk anymore. My young kids call that setup "ghetto".

I was thinking of the Kicker HS8 powered sub that fits under the seat, -or- mounting a 8" free air sub in the flat panel just behind the fold-down "console" in the back seat. That would look pretty trick.

For now, I plan to leave the stock head unit in place...

Kept the stock door speakers as they sound crisp with the new head unit..have 2 10s in the truck and 600W RMS amp...perfect for my needs.
