Spark plugs and leaking valve cover

These cars have cam covers in lieu of valve covers. But when you're doing spark plugs, you don't get into that. You're only dealing with intake manifold gaskets -upper and lower, or plenum gaskets. Both sets of manifold gaskets are very critical to the performance of the car. If not done and done correctly, you will have vacuum leaks that will make it run like crap.

Chris, when it comes to spark plugs, the more simple the plug is, the better you are going to like them. With that being said, you do need to stick with a platinum (sometimes referred to as double platinum) plugs. The cheaper "old style" plugs that are not platinum work in the car, but you will be replacing them after about 20K miles. ONce you do the job, you will be glad you paid the extra $1 per plug to get something that lasts 5 times longer.
What dwclapp lists as gaskets is all that you should need. Do you need to do those gaskets? No, not really. But, the cost of the gaskets is fairly cheap and it is cheap insurance from getting a vacuum leak in say 10K miles and having to pull everything back apart again.
I would say if you want some help, I am about 3 hours north of you. I am sure we can get what you need done in an afternoon. I Have all the tools.

I'll look at it today. I would still like to replace the plugs though.
