Default speaker help

Hi guys
day 2 as a new jag owner I have ordered a code scanner and new key
in the meantime I am looking into replacing my speakers they sound like crap muzzled and appear half are not even working the back speaker on rear deck is the loudest but sounds as if they are blown as they have a towel stuffed over them 2 tweeters in rear doors appear to work but rest don't really seem to be I have the 10 speakers with the stock head unit with cassette and cd player in trunk where do I start thanks guys

Btw I have a 2002 x-type 3.0 automatic

If it was me, I'd start with speaker replacement. A good speaker will make any system sound better over a bad speaker. No matter what else you improve, it will not sound good. Make sure you get the proper ohm and size speaker to make the job go easy.

How do you gain access to rear speakers on back deck I've seen post related to the door speakers

You will need to remove the back seats, trim columns, etc.

Download this workshop manual (provided on this forum). The manual covers many, many good things - including the removal of interior trim parts. Your current task will be in sections 4 & 5 of the manual.
