Unhappy Splittin at seems

Has anyone had any rust promlems with their hood.Mine seems to be rusting a bit where the two pieces are welded togetrher,at the side. There is not alot at all but if left I'm sure it will destroy my baby's face. The only thing i can think to do is fill it with a little jb weld..it's a epoxy metal mixture...then when it dries hit it with the touch up paint........(.that is surprisingly hard to find).I dont want to get into the whole bodt fill sanding thing for such a small job.Any tip's

Yeah, I noticed a few weeks ago when cleaning my engine bay. I was thinking about doing the same thing. Like you said, not sure where to get the stuff. Will find it somewhere. Now, to get time off work to be able to do it....maybe easier to find the JB weld! LOL

Have a body shop mix up the correct paint for you. They can give you a bottle of touch up paint. I have two bottles from getting the car repainted due to an accident. That's the best way to get an exact color match, and shouldn't really be very expensive since you just need the paint.

the hood rust should be covered by the corrosion warranty... Mine was, although the failed to put the seam sealer on the replacement hood, and then had to do the whole job a second time..

Good point Jimmy - the corrosion warranty is 6 years I believe - as long as there has been no non-dealer repairs to the area.
