Starting issues - ‘04 X-Type
Attempted to start my car November 14, 2019 and it didn’t turnover. Jumped it, and it fired right up. Went to start it the next day and the same thing happened so I jumped it again. The third day I had the same issue so instead of jumping it, I pulled the battery and drove my truck with the loose battery in the back to have the battery tested. No issues with the battery besides only being around 30% charged so I let them charge it for a few hours. Picked up the battery, reinstalled it and it fired right up again. Chocked it up to the cold weather, didn’t think anything more about it. The next day I attempted to start it again to no avail. So I jumped it to get it started and pulled the lead off the battery to see if the alternator would keep the engine running and luckily it did. However, now I don’t have a clue what is draining the battery while the car is off. I hear a whirring noise in the dash but from what I can tell from this forum is that the noise comes from an air sampler and is totally normal. Not to mention I wouldn’t think the tiny air sampling motor would kill a battery in less than a day. Has anyone else has this sort of issue?
Bad battery, a "normal" battery check at like an AutoZone, etc. is not sufficient to properly diagnose a bad (or soon failing) battery.

Any battery can go bad. Length of service has little to do with an inherent fault of the unit. That's why they have warranties.
If you suspect or prove battery is not the problem, you can do a SEARCH here for "parasitic battery drain" thread with procedure to find the cause.

And the small aspirator fan for the climate control does not run constantly; it goes into operation the moment the driver's door latch is moved and remains in operation until the engine has been shut down for a period of 15 minutes or so - which means that it SEEMS to be running permanently. Not so.
Your problem is with the battery. The history you give shows that it has not been brought to full charge.

Your battery may not be bad but you also cannot fully charge a battery in just a few hours. Have it fully charged by someone that knows what their doing or just replace it. Jags are very temperamental when it comes to battery’s not being fully charged
