Default Steering shuttering when turning

Hey Jag Friends,
I have a 2004 X-type 2.5 manual. I have had the power steering checked twice by my mechanic who cannot find anything wrong.

I thought I would check to see if anyone has had the same problem.

This shuttering noise and feeling on the steering wheel comes only when I am turning at slow speeds (ex. parallel parking) and giving a little bit of gas. My car is a standard.

It is a bit hard to describe, but it is very noticeable even to passengers.

At higher speeds and normal driving there are no steering issues.

Any thoughts?
Cheers.

Default loose belt or pulley

Sounds like a loose belt or pulley in your power steering get-up. I think X-types have a universal serpentine belt that runs everything. Does it throb in tune with the motor?

yes...throbbing is a good description and it is in tune with the motor. I will have that checked out. I had a new serpentine belt put on three months ago...
I am NOT mechanically inclined...so perhaps there is more than one?

Cheers.

Unhappy Steering Shuttering continues...

I have had my jag in three times for this issue and the mechanic cannot find anything wrong. Of course usually when he test drives it...the shuttering doesn't happen! lol

Does anyone have any idea what this could be. I love my car, but this problem really takes away from the driving please around the city.

Worst is when I parallel park. As I am turning the wheel and backing up the steering wheel throbs and it is audible to all those in the car. My X-type is a manual transmission...i am wondering if there is any connection to the drive train as I am easing up and down on the clutch/gas as I am parking.

Any ideas?

Even with the belt replacement maybe it is a bad tensioner????
