Default Steering wheel moves left to right

Okay so I just got this bucket of bolts together and running smoothly when I had to floor it getting on the highway..I had it pinned down until I got up to 75 mph or so...when I left off the gas I noticed the wheel shimmied right and left fairly aggressively a few times and then it went away...not thinking much about it I let it go...well a couple weeks later it did the brief shimmy again...this time under normal acceleration and as quickly as it came it was gone....and again today?? Any ideas?

Sorry, absolutely no ideas except something is very wrong if you are saying the steering column is moving. If the wheel itself is just moving, then it could be wheel balance, alignment, suspension...

If you are on a slick road, then it could simply be the traction control being a little aggressive. Much beyond that, not sure what to tell you. Only other thing that is coming to mind is bumps in the road, leading to the randomness of this.

Thanks for the replies....The steering column is stationary it is just the steering wheel that moves and it is random at best...Unfortunately the road has been dry and relatively bump free so I can rule that out...I guess I"ll just keep driving it and hope for the best!
