Default suspected front CV axle noise

Hi folks,

Doing some driving yesterday and I encountered some 'crunching' sounds and resistance through the steering wheel when making right handed turns but only if the wheel was past 90deg to the right from a straight position.

When just driving around in parking lots or other flat surfaces I could go full lock right and left with no problems, but when the suspension was being compressed for instance when going down a slope then to flat main road while making a right turn this sound and resistance would be felt. It would get worse the more past 90deg the steering would go in these situations. When the noise would first engage it sounded like a scraping sound but as the wheel progressed to the right the sounds got more unsettling. When cruising down the highway at 65 the there was no audible sounds or resistance. Turning the wheel left in any situations would result in any noise or resistance.

Has anyone encountered a problem such as this before?
I looked up new CV axle on jpamporschejaguarparts.com and the OEM is $601.25!!
A rebuilt unit from jagparts.com is $57-$85.
Any idea if a Jag dealer would install a rebuilt part?

Thank you!

This noise turned out to be a broken sway bar link on the left side. It had broken off at the strut mounted position. Hence when a right turned was made the link bar would move to the left and knock around on the strut and wheel.

Jaguar has some update sway bar links that have better structural integrity vs the original style.
