Default Suspension idea no good

I was doing some research and found that usuing the oem sport springs will not do me much good because the sport models have adaptive shocks. So the spring rates are no stiffer than the ones on the comfort setup, they are about 1 inch shorter though. I cant drop the car. Ive been searching all car forums for the stiffest OE replacement shocks i can get on a nonsport x. I have decided on the Bilstein HD series and i'll be ordering them this week. Anyone in here have upgraded shocks on their x?

I lowered my jag using the springs you mentioned. Ride is a bit stiff, but i like it...car was dropped about 1.5 inches front and rear, makes a huge difference!! Cornering, accelerating, and stopping are all improved. I used the factory sport shocks with no problems.

I thought you had the arden springs racer, and dropped the back only? must be someone else onthis board. But yea, i really cant drop the car, i barely have an inch between the fender and rear tire as it is. It rubs with 2 people in the back when i hit a bump, with stock hight. I've been reading alot of posts on roadfly.com and others about the bilstein HDson audi s4's, 3 series etc, and everyone says they are a vast improvement over the comfort setup and give a really stiff ride, eliminate body roll and brake squat etc. I was wondering if anyone had them on their x's.

well i ordered them. I got em on Shox.com for about 580 shipped. not bad. I did the shocks on my z32 (300zx), i hope doing them on the x isnt anymore complicated, cuz the rust on the z made it into a 4 hour chore.

In a sarcastic voice: "Rust on a Z? NOOOO, REALLY!"

I love the car but damn they rust quickly if you live where it snows or near beaches!
