i saw this pic on jag-lovers.com. The transfer case with the axle removed.

Is the large bolt on the left the fill plug?
and is the smaller bolt lurking in the shadow to the right the drain plug?

 

There are plenty of pictures right here in this forum that show where the drain plug is, you just have to check the FAQ for the threads.

No point in trying to find a picture of the fill plug, you can't reach or access it unless you remove the transfer case from the car.

 

i wasn't trying to find a pic of the fill plug...i just came across the pic while reading an unrelated thread. I understand it can not be accessed. just tryin to learn whats what on my new car.
can anyone inform me what that large bolt is for...just curious

 

iownme, the drain plug is not in the picture that you posted. You can identify the drain plug by the square opening in the middle of the plug (3/8" wrench fits it) and you will see it flush with the side of the case. The drain plug points towards the driver's wheel and is tucked up in a pocket. But, like I mentioned, once you see the transfer case, finding the drain plug is easy.
