Or was there some other "reasonable" excuse?

Read your other post 04.............Man you must be livid.
If it were me I'd go to town Big time...........6 weeks an they do a half assed job. I'd be speaking to the bodyshop manager and havin a few choice words, coolant, alignment etc etc.....I'd be wantinf sumthin for sure and threaten him with speaking to the insurance company and telling them you're unhappy with the work and not to pay the bill until you're completely satisfied!

No way 04.........you're totally lettin em off the hook bro. I'd fight it for sure for all the hassle. Persevere and you could be pleasantly surprised for the sake of a few phone calls!

When it was taken to the shop that stuff was supposed to fixed thus you wouldn't take it to the shop! Right?
Repeat trips are inexcusable! I'd be talking to the manager or shop owner for sure to let them know this is BS!
One and done not three strikes til your out...to me you would want to have things fixed properly and they'd want that so you get them other business...you don't let them know your pissed how will they know?

EXACTLY!

I'm a great believer in, when I get good service, I'll speak to the manager and praise the member of staff and leave a tip, depending on what it is of course.
By the same token, give me bad service or a bad product and you better believe I'm gonna complain!
I thought that culture was much more prevalent in the states?

Ahhhhh....when someone or place does me a good service you know I wont stop talking them up...most of the time if someone/place does a disservice I may or may not let them know...to me when you complain sometimes things happen sometimes not....in 04's case I'd be livid when going in there as it isn't a huge franchise like walmart that would have 50 employees...managers tend to not care when you deal with lots of people...a smaller business with less employees would want to know whats going on....know what I'm saying?

K ....fair point. But, even if its a huge franchise operation, there will be someone somewhere that cares, its just getting to speak to that person, thats the tricky part, but worth it if you're that hacked off.
In this instance, its just about getting value for money and maybe some compo, some apology, sumthin free etc etc as a way of making the customer ( namely 04) happier beacuse of the long delay and poorly finished vehicle. Poor workmanship has a price the same way outstanding workmanship does!

No you got me all wrong Jimmy I'm saying the place he took his car to would be able to help him out...as far as them not being a huge franchise like walmart or something similar they'd car about complaints...less deaf ears for complaints to fall on...a small place like his body shop which couldn't be more than 20 people would be quite irritated if they found out employees were yanking their chains especially when they need that business because they aren't a huge corporation....did that help any?

We're on the same wavelength sorta I think. Basically we agree that if you're not gettin theservice / product that you paid for and the quality you expect. Do something about it!
No one else is gonna do it for ya

For sure and that shop would definitely care because they can't be a huge company that could care less what one person thinks of them...know what I mean?

Yep, but I just feel so sorry for 04. I reckon you nailed it when you said it was coz he's a younger guy.
I just hope he gets some sorta resolutionand satisfaction re the finished vehicle and compensation. Sounds like he's got it coming to me,but, only if he fights for it by the sounds of it. They're not gonna give it away.

Thats the way it has to be done...you gotta fight for anything from most every insurance company...sick part was how they said the alignment wasn't needed seeing as how the car was parked when hit...that is such bs especially when you think about it the car was HIT!!! I get the whole age thing all of the time...don't know why...just because your older you get things fixed right or taken care of...to me money is money no matter the age but I guess we just have to deal with it...
