Is it possible to change the whole front end of a s type to an x type?? Hood, headlights, bumper, grill etc??

 

At horrible cost / outcome. Or, no.

 

my1st, can you? With enough money, I'm sure it can be done. Is it a direct bolt on? I highly doubt it is, especially considering that the X-Type and S-Type come from 2 different platforms (the X-Type from the Mondeo platform and the S-Type from a modified LIncoln LS platform-or something very close to that). So, the odds of even having half of the bolt holes to match up is pretty low.

 

Don't know why you'd even consider going to all the trouble and expense when a nice 4.0 or 4.2 S type can be had for little outlay. By all means go for the S type in the V8 configuration. Recently parted with my operating beautifully and looking great '05 S type R for under $7k with 102k miles on it. All it needed was set of tires and headliner replacement. Plenty of pampered S types available for a song. Ran into a fellow last week who bought a 4.0 S type for $2500!! Overall nice condition but needed an AC compressor, otherwise in nice overall condition. Have fun shopping.

 

My first question would be why?
I'd rather see an S-type with AWD and the S/C V-8 - wanna try that?
