throttle body
zez, cleaning the throttle body atleast for me is a non event. First off, go to the auto parts store and get your hands on some throttlebody cleaner (NOT!!!!! carb cleaner, completely different stuff). Now, go home and park the car. Let the motor cool. NOw, remove the air inlet to the throttlebody. YOu will probably want to also put a catch cloth under the throttlebody to catch anything that comes out the front of the throttlebody. THen using one hand, slowly open the butterfly valve and use the throttlebody cleaner to remove anything that is brown (should leave everything a nice silver color). Make sure to get the edge of the butterfly disk.
Once you can not remove anything more, re-install the intake. When you go to start the car, you may find it hard to start. Do not worry. YOu have essentially "flooded" the car. Crank the engine over and it will start. Of note, you may also get a code for misfires and/or running rich. Get the motor running and it will steady out.
