Time for change?
Haven't had any real problems with my jag. Love it! But the wife really misses the land rover. she wants another rover. so I may be trading in the jag and getting a range rover. Man,women can just ...well they just can. Looking into what cost of ownership is. has anyone in here had experience? Thanks as always. Bill

RE: Time for change?
Hey Bill......I love the Range rover....beautiful machine and a great 4x4 too. The police use them extensively over here for motorway patrols.
They 're expensive and a mate of mine bought one brand new a year or so ago....It was never out of the shop, had all sorts of problems and he got rid after about a year losing a bundle[&:]
I still love them, but I get the impression thay can be unreliable and expensive to maintain.
Dennis.... I love JC from Top Gear and most of us over here do to. He's a brilliant presenter for the show, but, you;'re right..........he is ultra hard on American cars. Havin said that he went out and bought the Ford GT...lol

From what I read... the Jag places mid to low in any comparison test. Land rovers always finish DEAD LAST...
why not upgrade?
I think if you look at the problem with an engineers's mind you will find the root cause is your wife needs re-training.
Some people say the customer is always right.. I say sometimes the customer needs to be shown what is right.
This worldwide thing of driving trucks for carrying people is just so completely ridiculous.
If I were god I would ban production of trucks with more than 1 seat.
A few exceptions.. like I suppose you need a few seats to go out on a game reserve and shoot some of god's creatures.

Were you ever a member of DiscoWeb?

Frankly I meant nothing personal..I just meant that DISCOweb arebunch ofA-holes for the most part and is a very caustic atmosphere..either you're in theirlittle clique or you're not and if it was the latter you got hassled for being sincere..So if you had a good experience, then you were one of the lucky ones...I will agree, there was a lot of good technical advise there though.

no offense taken. you are right, I never got to be part of the discoweb experience. I just trolled the faqs and they have a great resource with online manuals and things. the aforementioned door problem was not answered by anyone, just found it on the sight. thanks, for reply. so I guess no one hear would trade or move to the range? that says a lot about us as a community of jag owners, and even more throught the silence of those who maybe know about the rr. thanks as always, Bill

RE: Time for change?
update. looking at 01 hse range. will purchase comprehensive warranty for mileage up to length of loan for all but wearable items,ie. belts hoses, etc. has less than 35k and is real bargain, also wife has real issues with driving. needs range, hummer, something substantial, and would probably secure my need for hookers with teeth!!! lol. any replies helpful, thanks, Bill
