Default RE: tire size matter??

Well i didn't really think that the front would work either....but let us know. The only thing that lowers the car is the springs....if you use the coil overs for that, what happens to the main spring? Will it be too much for the coil overs to handle? Don't really get how it works...

The Arden kit comes with the coils and heavy duty shocks. the coils lowers the car abiut 1.4 inches abd the new shocks provide the proper compression for the road.......

anyway, let us know....

're practically correct. I've heard of them, but never needed to use that type of shock.
So my question is:
If you're using coil over shocks what happens to the main spring or coil that's there now?
If you adjust the coil over, will they be fighting with the main coil spring?
Or do you remove the main coil and just use the coil over shock?
If so, won't the car bottom out? And will that smaller coil last longer then the bigger factory coil...??

Been a mechanic for a few years......just don't see the need for two coils, and that kit you're buying seems to be designed for all out racing, not street use....

Guess I???ll have to read up on it some.....

That's why I went with the Arden system, no guess work, and no problems since it was designed for the Jaguar, not 20 other vehicles....

I'll take a look at my jags front end again to see where the coil is now.....just to get an idea...

Merry Christmas to you too!

P.s. my wife got me a new Alpine subwoofer! Hope I have room in the trunk!

I looked on my Jag to see how the coil over will look and Just as i figured, the strut and coil are one, with the coil sitting on a lip of the strut.

Does this mean you will have to modify the strut?
The webpage for your kit doesn't show a good picture of the coilovers and it would be interesting to see how it would work.

I suppose maybe when you get it installed you can post some pictures??

thanks

Ok, i see now. the coil overs replace the entire strut assembly. Found a good picture of the one you intend to put on your car.
Looks good in a small package. my only concern will be if they can withstand everyday driving....since they will be replacing the bigger unit....

best of luck...

i just cant imagine why a coilover setup wouldnt work, because in most cases, coilovers are more compact than stock setups...

Well the front ones will work, my only concern is if it will last since its intent is for racing.....and usually race parts only last one or two seasons...just a coincidence that they had the front, since it is a common type of suspension.....

As for the rear, they probably do not have the right type/design. Plenty of room, just nobody makes any performance parts for the X-type, (other then Arden) but as they become more and more popular, I???m sure we will see all kinds of after market parts becoming available...

Stay tuned!
