NEW MEMBER to all- got a x type 6v se auto, 38,000 miles 51 plate (2001 plate) good service history. Had it for 9mths what a car! never had a cat before and never going back. One thing the locking mechanism, the drivers door is a nightmare everyone has to keep letting me in it will not open with the remote. Can anyone help,with how to fix ?

Yeah, you need a new lock actuator... I have had this problem many times. First, I wasn't able to open my passengers door because the little motor that moves the lock mechanism overheated and died. These things go out all the time. I got my used one from ebay and it's been fine for 2 years now

Any electrical problem has to be diagnosed first. It can be actuator, switch, connector, wires, remote.
