hey all, i'm looking for an answer.

I have a 2004 x-type, which i've had for 6 months.A buddy's friend told me i should change the fluid in the transfer case, after asking my dealer, i was told it is maintence free and does not require servicing.

What is the truth concerning this, also what fluid and grade does it take?

 

BS!! no such thing as maintenance free..is the answer..Do a search here ..there is how to photos and plenty of discussions on the subject

I changed my at 30,000 miles and put in Royal Purple 75w140...
