Default Transfer Case or Transmission Problem?

My 2005 X-Type, without DSC, is scrubbing it tires when I make sharp, slow turns as if the differential is not allowing slippage to accommodate the different turning radius. It reminds me of what happens when you left the hubs locked in on an older 4WD truck and then drove it on pavement!

I have changed the transfer case oil, and flushed the auto transmission fluid. There is no abnormal wear on the tires and the car drives fine. Alignment is good.

It looks like one of the front half shafts comes out of the transmission on the opposite side to where the drive goes from the transmission into the transfer case and the other half shaft comes out of the other side of the transfer case. Is there a differential in there somewhere?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
