I got a quote of 279 to do a transmission flush with the filter and some sort of gasket at our local transmission place. Is that a good price?

 

I would say that's a little bit high, unless they are using the genuine Jaguar tranny fluid. I would pull the trigger if it was around $200 though!

 

What is the fluid type we need and how many qts does the car take 2002 2.5 X Type ?

 

Hi. I was given a qoute closer to $500.00 by one mechanic to drain the fluid on my X-Type. Then, I went to another Jaguar Master Mechanic and he charged me around $250 including parts, fluid, labor. So for me, your quote sounds good. Thanks!

Really? People mentioned that it is hard to do on these cars, something about not being able to crack the transmission?
