Default transmission fault displayed on gauge cluster

my 2002 xtype is displaying Transmission Fault on the dash.it is also making a terrible sound coming from the trans. heres a video to help, ill have a better one tomorrow. it sounds like the tranny is dry or low on fluid. ive read that you can check/add fluid thru a "filler neck" under the battery tray. if this is true how do i do it? thanks

Is the fault light on constantly, or does it go out once the car is heated?

you should be ashamed to call this a car forum. you guys are no better than a bunch of 16 ricer kids, the only thing that seperates you is you have a more expensive car
Off to a great start.

67 views and no thoughts wow you guys need to stop playing around with your HiD's and actually learn about your cars. i would do this with the x type but its not my car. you go look at an rx7 forum or a jeep forum and compare it to this crap site. you should be ashamed to call this a car forum. you guys are no better than a bunch of 16 ricer kids, the only thing that seperates you is you have a more expensive car
Jackass. BTW, your friend needs a transmission.

the fluid was really low, 5 quarts to be exact. the car only has 1st gear, no reverse either

as to my post even the admins on this forum have addressed this very issue that i was angry about( see off topic section at the top of the x type section) so maybe i took my rant a bit to far but it was justified

Did you add the 5 qts? If so, what did you use (brand, etc.) , and how did you determine it was 5 qts. down?
