Transmission Sports Mode not working
Hello everyone, I bought my wife a 2003 X-type 2.5L Jag 2 weeks ago.
Unfortunately it came with no warranty.
Up until today the Transmission Sport Mode worked, now I press the button and the LED doesn't come on. Also you can tell that the gear shiftdidn't toggle to the Sport mode because the shifting revs didn't change either (not just the LED).
Any ideas if it would be the switch, wiring or the ECM computer.

If the light doesnt come on the switch is probably busted, i would think. You could take it to the dealer, get a diagnostic test, and they acn probably replace the switch.
That would probably be expensive, and seeing as it's you wives car, I would just leave it. But you should see how much it will cost to fix first, it could be cheap.
