Default A True Beast Of A Car!

I live in Cleveland Ohio. Today we got hit with 18 inches of snow! They closed the whole city. Best buy, bed bath and beyond, and most other stores and restaurants were closed. It looked like the city plow trucks had the day of as well…lol. I thought to myself “what am I going to due today? All the stores are closed. Should I watch some movies? Surf the web? Play video games?” hell no! I have an X-Type! I went down stairs to go take the car out. I guess I underestimated the snow because it was so deep I could not even open the door to my house. When I did get the door open I saw that there was a 4 foot snow drift in my drive way! I waived down a snow plow and he cleared the path for my Jag. I must say this car is a beast in the snow!! I was flying around while everyone else that ventured out was stuck on the side of the roads. I saw trucks, cars, and busses that where buried in this deep unplowed snow. But I just cruised right on by! When driving down a main street and looking at all the people digging them self’s out while I was cruising along I noticed a smirk come over my face. There was something about knowing that my car was having no trouble at all while everyone else was stuck. I noticed I almost laughed out loud at the situation. This car handled and drove better than I could ever dream. I stopped and picked up a friend just to show him how amazing this car was in the deep snow. I liked this car before today…..now…. I love it! I have just one regret….. I wish I brought a video camera to tape this beast of a car doing its thing!

13-14" here in Louisville, KY. Most stores were closed yesterday, and even the malls didn't open until the middle of the day.
I ended up going into work yesterday morning, but left at 4. I couldn't believe how great mine did, either. The roads really put the DSC through the paces, and it performed flawlessly. I saw a couple of front wheel drive cars stuck on slight inclines, sitting there just spinning their wheels while I drove by with no troubles.
There were several other vehicles out, but mostly SUVs. I could easily count the number of non-SUVs that were out on one hand, one of which was actually another X-type.

As vegas said, if it weren't for the massive, unstoppable rust, broken headlights, and squeals and squeaks when it's cold outside, the car would definitely be keep-able.

way to rubb it in FTJ[:'(]

i feel what your saying Vegas, rollin in the snow withmy shinny Xtype just feels so right. It is the thing i am going to miss the most. The AWD is sick in our cars you really have to try hard to lose control in horrible conditions. I think only once i lost control this winter when i drifted around a corner and didnt see a car parked on the side, tried to throttle out of t but ended up using every resource of the ABS.

All the other annoying things seem to dissapear while tracking straight in true when other cars are in the ditch.

In NYC, we had a downpour of rain friday with winds up to 40 mph. So me and my buddies decide to hit the local pubs.

Let me tell u, I never felt so secure in a car, the AWD is a dream

Stock or winter tires?

If you like the traction with the stock tires, you'd be amazed with winter tires. Which would have the additional benefit of improving cornering grip and braking...
