Default Ugh help! CEL, P1314 and p0302

Hello Everyone,

Wednesday I turned off my car and everything was fine. Thursday I started my car up and I'm getting misfires, rough idling, a flashing CEL, and a bad smell outside the car.

I went to auto zone and I was given codes p0302 and p1314. I did a lot of searching here on the forums, and unfortunately I just kind of confused myself.

I know that P1314 - bank 2 misfire rate catalytic damage.
and p0302 is a misfire of cylinder 2.

So.. I'm not real sure if this is a simple problem, or a complex problem.

Since I have the bad smell outside the car, does that mean that my catalytic converter is definitely bad? Or is there still a chance that this could be a bad coil on cylinder 2?

I'm not the most mechanically inclined, but with the holidays here I don't have a lot of money to spend trying to get this fixed by a professional, so any advice you all can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael Anderson

I replaced the number two ignition coil today. At least I think I did. The number 2 coil is the one one the side under the air filter box right?

Should the engine light go off if that fixed the problem? I turned it on after changing it and the engine light is still on, but it seemed to be running smooth.
