Default Unlocking Trunk from Key Fob

Hey All,

Question... when you hit the "open trunk" button on your key fob, do you just hear the trunk unlocking, or is the trunk door/lid supposed to actually pop-up? When I hit the button on the key, I hear it unlock, but then press the little button under the trunk's door-grip to open.

I ask because I noticed that, normally, on other types of cars, when you use your key-button to open the trunk, it automatically pops open. If it's supposed to pop-open, then I'll take it to the dealer to get fixed. If not.... oh well....

Thanks.

all the key fob does is unlock it. you don't need to press the button as that does the same thing - unluck the trunk. either way will unlock it, but neither will open it.

With the S Type the boot opens properly but due to the position and strength of the springs on the X type they arent strong enough to fully open the bootlid on our X types.
I asked this directly to Jag at the X type seminar in January at their Castle Bromwich car plant and the answer I got was it would take a lot of money,re-engineering and repositioning of the bootlid spring to enable it to open fully andthey are not interested in doing this.
