Default Vacuum Leak

I've had my '02 X-type for exactly 4 weeks now... and the check engine light has come on again. The first time it happened less than 24hrs after driving it off the lot. One of the error codes came up as a vacuum leak... that can mean a lot of things. The used car dealership where I bought it took it to a Jag dealer and had it fixed. Turns out the bank 2 catalytic converter was blown. Now the check engine light is on again, and once again the error code talks about vacuum leak... now I am wondering...

1. is it possible the cause of this vacuum leak is also why the catalitic converter was blown and by replacing the catalitic converter they took away a result of the problem but not the cause?
2. other than the gas cap, what could cause this error?

Any ideas?
Thanks!
K.

Evaporative emission codes are easy to trace if you have access to a scan tool to close the canister close valve and a smoke machine to pump smoke in to find the hole.

Took my baby in at the local Jag dealer... Waiting to hear what they find... if that's an evap code, that's the second time in one month that I get an evap error code... I think I will call the dealer and remind him of that...

Unfortunately, I don't have the time/equipment/knowledge/room for a lot of car tinkering... and I trust the Jag dealer more than I trust myself when it comes to fixing things on my car.

I'll keep you posted on what they find...

Fuel tank seals, purge valve, canister close valve, gas cap or canister itself. Let us know.
