Smile Virgin ecu

Hello ladies and gents,

greetings.

I read in some post here on options of buying a new ECM or making a used one as virgin as a new one. Unfortunately, it has taken me weeks, and I cannot find that post. I recall it was written by one of our very knowledgeable and experienced moderators.

I have need to make my ECU and Transmission modules virgin. Which eprom chip should i read and wipe clean?
I am working on a 2003 X400 Jaguar X type with automatic transmission, touch screen and navigation, 2.0L sedan

regards

I've moved your question from New Member Area - Intro a MUST to X-Type forum.

It is likely to be either a Cambo or a Thermo post you are trying to recall as both have written extensively about modules.

Thanks.
So I tried to configure my corrupted/unresponsive TCM as an existing module. It was reported as unsuccessful, but show '4 DTCS Logged" in the TCM. My question is how is this even possible? 4 DTCs logged, but the TCM is unresponsive? How do I proceed from there?
