Just came back from the dealer. Yesterday tried to start my '07 x-type. Felt like it was missing. Had no power. Wouldn't travel over 30 mph. Returned from my 5 min. trip and let the car sit for about 2 hours. There were heavy rains the night before and I figured something must have gotten wet. When I went back out to start the car it ran even worse. Engine wouldn't run over 1500 rpms. Bad smell started. A cross between a burnt clutch (this car is auto) and burnt wires. Called AAA and had it towed to the dealer. I have a Jaguar certified used car warranty good until 2/13. Result: ECM was toast. cabin filter clogged. Rain water overflowed and dripped onto the ECM which is right below it. (Great design). Almost not covered by warranty because I hadn't changed the cabin filter according to service schedule. Disreguarded my mistake, because I'm a good customer. I just have to pay for the new cabin filter. Jack
