Talking What do you do with a 300,000 mile Jag

Answer: Keep driving it. My old girl tripped the light fantastic and clicked up the 300,000 miles a few weeks ago. Still the original engine, but had to replace the gearbox a couple of months ago as the old one was starting to growl. Managed to get one off ebay for £375 Result !!! The only problem was the captive nut in the engine subframe was no longer captive so had to cut a window for a spanner. Aircon pump seized a few weeks ago and burned the drive belt out. Picked up a pump for £40 so another result. Otherwise its been pretty economical to keep on the road over the last 8 years. Guess it will need new driveshafts and bearings in the next 20-30,000 miles based on previous experience.

Congratulations. That is quite a feat with any car. You should post some pictures of your car.

I bet Jaguar would be proud to help acknowledge your accomplishment on the level of mileage. Have you contacted them?
