X-Type Alarm

Steven,
As you've already posted an Intro (https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...member-176133/), I've moved your question from New Member Area - Intro a MUST to X-Type forum.
This is the place to post technical questions about your 2002 X-Type.

The security module communicates with several other modules, including the ECU and instrument binnacle. When you attempt to start the car, it identifies the key as being 'known' or it won't let the car start.
Rather than attempt to disable the alarm, perhaps you might consider trying to fix whatever is causing the alarm to trigger ?
Aside from checking for such obvious things as faulty door switches and wiring problems do also bear in mind that the alarm can be triggered by pressing the headlight button on the key three times. This has happened accidentally to me a couple of times when my keys have made contact with other items in a pocket.
