What happened to "X type faq " quick links ""
Awhile back Admin had JimC64 put together some quick links to threads on the repair of X-types. These links no longer work. Too bad because they were a great reference. It's been awhile since I've been on the forum, did I miss something or is there another way to get to these links? Any help getting there would be appreciated. I'm replacing brake pads and rotors and have found some threads, but I really liked these "Quick Links".

Wow guys, thanks for the heads up as I wasn't aware of this
Attention, all mods!
Please see what we can do to restore these FAQ's as soon as possible.
I myself will do my best to see what I can come up with to try and get back to where we need to be on this. To be fair, they could probably do with an update anyway as I don't think they've been added to for some time
Please lets treat this as our next project as the X type section is one of the busiest and most popular on the site.
TIA for all your help

Thanks to Admins
It appears that everything is working again. I'm replacing pads and rotors and have read most of the threads on brakes. The threads have inspired me to spend a little more time to fully clean and paint the suspension parts, as well as apply some caliper paint. I also read about using pliers and c-clamps to compress and rotate the pistons or purchase a specialty tool. Harbor Freight sells a caliper service tool kit 97143 for $45 that contains a variety of discs and a left and right (CW & CCW) spindle so you can easily rotate the rear caliper piston while compressing. No worry about damaging a boot. Unlike some HF stuff, the kit is actually very good quality and it will work for many makes of cars. It's well worth the investment.
