What type of chip in in my key?
long story short. I ordered 2 key fobs with keys. Keys are cut and unlock everything, however the small glass tube chip is wrong. what is the make and model of the chip I need? Looks like I can change it fairly easily. (2006 X-Type Wagon.)

Not being sure what you have, it may be the right chip and just need the car to be programmed to accept the code. Each transponder has a unique code, except for those which are "cloned" from another chip.

If the key fob is working to unlock trunk, unlock/lock doors, it is the correct Mhz key fob. The "glass pellet" in the fob needs programing to your car = car will not start using the new fob. SEARCH will return where/how//who can provide this programming.
