Default cloning transponder keys?

ive been doing some searching for several days now about programming keys and was wondering why cloning hasnt been discussed much. if my what i read is correct then jaguar/ford keys use 4D-60 or tpx2 transponder chips and during my search ive ran across several cheap products that can "clone" a transponder chip and then write it to a new chip. if these products exist, then why so much talk of having to go to a dealership when the cost for the cloning tools is so low?

They did not exist, but may now do - many years have passed.

I bought a zed bull mini clone but i noticed it wouldn't work on any(or at least the 4d-60 keys) tpx(texas instruments) transponders then i found this one.. For 30-40 bucks it doesnt seem that bad at all.. I only have one key and between the 2 programmers ill be able to clone my honda and jaguar keys fairly easily..

The problem with this method is the way in which the car assigns the rfid bulb. Every rfid bulb is discrete and permanent and for the most part different, tho there may be some duplicates it rarely presents as a problem.

If for example you have only one key you must use the dealer inerface to assign more keys. Here is a summery of how it works. you put a programmed key in, the car recognizes it then you perform whatever the next step is and the car then requires the second key. Here is where the trouble starts. You cannot at this point simply use the first key again, the car wants to verify the second key is in your possession(it would be rare for a thief to have your second key) At this point you may program your third key, caution this 3rd key will only be accepted for a finite period of time, but I can't tell you for how long or what conditions may render it unusable, just know it could leave you stranded if you don't have a backup.

so while making a clone of an existing key may let you use it to start the car, the clone will not be recognized as the one and only second key, as the second key will transmit a different code than the first.

Also by that token when you go to the dealer(or certain locksmiths who can access the vehicle computer as necessary to assign keys) don't expect your cloned key to program properly as the second key, since it sends the same signal as the one you cloned it from.

My locksmith charged $40 to program the key I bought on Ebay and recut myself by hand.

Very confusing. Someone tell me simple answer.
Bought used 2007 xj8L with only one key. Contacted last owner who had the car for 10 years and said he never got the second key. I am going to dealership am tomorrow 2019 May 1 and biting the bullet and bought new key, (they claim pre cut) and program the key transponder. Simple question, are both my keys going to work indefinitely ( as long as one should work)? In other words is one or the other going to loose the ability to start my car?
