Can never work out the difference between UK and US mpg so I get around 240 miles/tank aournd town and 300+ on the motorway.
Hopefully get at least 300 miles/tank when I set off on a 1500-1900 mile (depending on how much driving I do when I get there) round trip to France on Friday.
Currently fuel in France at 1.61 Euros per litre ($2.53 per litre) in some places which is $6.09 per US Gallon.[X(]

I pull a consistant 26.0 mpg when I am cruising the highways at about 75 mph. Get me in town for 50/50 city/highway and my mileage drops to 22.2 mpg. So, that would mean that I am pulling around 17.0 mpg in town.

here's a converter...the metric conversion is 100 km/liter right?

I get about 19-20 with a city/highway mix. Haven't had the car long enough to take it on a long highway trip yet.

25 mixed driving no matter how hard or easy and around 30-33MPG on a long highway trip. I used to get 27 mixed but i think she needs some spark plugs to get er back to a little better efficiency.

Jvegas, i have the 2.5 with a 5 speed. I actually get worse gas mileage shifting at 1800 and taking it real easy on it than i do taking off quicker. The key idea is to find a shift point that maximizes your engine EFFICIENCY not power and torque and to stay within that range. I found that 70-75 MPH is a good highway speed and that shifting at 2400-2600 is best for town driving. Leave the car in gear if its a stickshift when decelerating or coasting. Use more fuel idling and you also will wear your brakes quicker shifting to nuetral. On top of that, i very seldom have to drive in traffic with the hours that i work so that helps alot. Other than that keep it clean and all your maintainence proformed. I am 20 years old so you most likely have an idea how i drive (I am not going to deny i jump on it a little more than the typical person) and i still manage to get better mileage in anything i drive compared to others just out of driving habbit and knowing what im driving. Its like a challenge to me to see how good i can get

I replaced my air filter to K&N and my milage improved to highway 27 average and 22 on city driving and that brings me to an overall average 24.5 mpg.

Only had it a week, but on the drive back from PHX to Ft Wort. The trip computer said 28.0. I was driving 70-75 most of the time. With stops the computer said we avg 63 mph. I've had my foot in it and it has dropped to 26 mpg.

Great ride, and fast.

silly side question relating to mileage. Is there a reason why our Jags have such a small fuel tank? I only ask this as I am used to american vehicles which seem to have a gas tank that will allow you to drive for 400 miles without refilling. But, in the case of the Jag, I can only get maybe 325 miles to a tank going to the same points. I pushed it once and managed to get 340 miles, but that was putting 13.8 gallons into the tank (the tank supposedly only holds 13.5 gallons, so, I was running on fumes, literally). Is it just a European thing or is there some logic to it? Not saying it is wrong, just different than what I am used to.
