Default Wheel Bearings

Hello all,

As some of you may know...I have placed new rims and tires on my wife's vehicle.

I never noticed the sound before, but now I can hear "tire" noise inside the car.

It has been back to Discount Tire about 6 times, who are fantastic by the way! I highly recommend Discount Tire to all.

Today I was told that I most likely have a bad wheel bearing and suggested I take it to a Merlin to check it out. I stopped by Merlin and was told that the wheel bearings on both sides are bad.

Has anyone had bad bearing? The car only has 48,000 miles on it.

Any chance the bearings are covered under warranty?

Thanks for the help guys!

Also, where does everyone get their brakes done?

Cheers,
J

Bearings are cover under factory warranty, and most extended warranties, you can do you own front brakes easily, and rears you need a piston turning tool, avail to borrow from any auto parts stores. Or you can have the dealer do them when you get the bearings done

have them check for oil pan leakage, internal headlight breakage(loose inner assembly), vacuum leaks from IMTs, brake booster line, and PCV hose, water pump leakage, cracked coolant reservoir, battery case cracked by negative terminal. does it have grey foam padding around case if so then case is definitly cracked....since its original...popping noise in front end so loud I can hear in Tx, sounds like front sway bar bushings to me and end links....and dont you smell oil burning from the car in front of you even though ricirc is on...maybe the recirc door is broken and stays open? I dont know might be a few things to ck before youre out of warranty......
