Smile Wheels

Hi everyone Iam new to all this Iam sure I'll have plenty of questions, I have a 2001 x type and was wondering what size wheels will fit it ? So a couple of different size options would be great with out having to do any major modifications. Iam thinking 19in or maybe 20's so what would be best? Can u let me know like 19x8.5 for front and back , when I look at wheels I don't know what iam looking at and most place's say x type 2002 onwards so iam guessing these won't fit ? I don't know and do I look for 5x108 ?

Thank you
Toby

g'day! Your car would qualify as model year 2002 in yankland, so wheels marked 2002-up will fit. The specs are 5x108 with a centre bore of 63.4mm. It is also the same pattern and centre bore as the Volvo C30/V50/C70 and current generation S40.

Since these cars came with 18" and 225/40/18 tyres, you can run either

19" with 225/35/19 or
20" with 225/30/20

Not sure how the roads are in Perth since I spend most of my time in Melbourne, Sydney and Gold Coast when in Oz, but I would opt for the 19" if I were you (and this comes from someone who has had two sets of 20" on my X-Type). You can go as wide as 9" on the wheels in front and 10" in the rear, but you need to pay attention to offsets. Generally you are safe with a 40mm offset give or take as long as you don't try to fit bigger/wider tyres.

If you get any ideas, please IM me on here. I have had 6 sets of wheels on my X-Type since I took ownership 19 months ago and know what will fit.

Hi Jeremy,
You wouldn't happen to have a spare (unwanted) 18" - 'Indianapolis' wheel ?
(or know where I could get a used one)
I would like to put a full size Spare wheel - in the boot.

try wheelsandcaps.com or Jerry's Wheels - I don't have one. I try to stay away from OEM wheels unless they are from an XF, XK or S-Type R. The rest are too narrow and high offset to be cool.

Here's a site I found that can help with tire selections.

Visual Tyre Size Calculator | Kouki Tech

It helps maintain the same diameter and circumference.
